Mailing of Aid/Refund Checks

If a student is not signed up for direct deposit, any refund or financial aid checks will automatically be mailed to the student’s local address on file. Students must maintain up-to-date address information on [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu/) to avoid any postal delays. Aid checks may take up to 10 business days to reach the student by mail; signing up for [direct deposit](/sfs/node/118) is strongly encouraged for students to receive funds quickly and safely. *For refunds of parent PLUS loans where the parent has designated that the funds not be sent to the student, a refund check will be sent to the parent address supplied on the Master Promissory Note and PLUS Loan Application.*
