The University is frequently the defendent or plantiff in lawsuits and in the course of preparing for trial, records created by University offices are requested. The University also frequently receives public record requests and undergoes audits.  All records pertaining to ongoing or pending audits, lawsuits (or even reasonably anticipated lawsuits), litigation holds or public disclosure proceedings must not be destroyed, damaged or altered until the issue is resolved and you are specifically advised that such records may be destroyed.

Records Management Services is aware of the following lawsuit affecting the retention of records at the University. Be advised, this is not a comprehensive list of the current or pending lawsuits and you are advised to contact either the Attorney General's Office or the Office of Public Records and Open Public Meetings to determine whether there are lawsuits or public records requests affecting your office's records.
