The Leadership In Quality Award is designed to encourage employees to meet customer needs and improve work processes. Leaders in Financial Management and Strategy Management must demonstrate behaviors consistent with the organization's leadership values and qualities. Leadership behavior stems from a commitment to the vision and principles of the organization and participating in and understanding specific communication and climate setting skills.

The Leadership in Qualities Award (LINQ) recognizes leaders, including team leaders, who are:

• Trustworthy
• Approachable
• Trusting of Others
• Inspiring

The recipient of this award receives a beautiful wooden box with the first quality awarded engraved on a University of Washington seal attached to the top of the box. For each quality subsequently awarded, an engraved plaque will be added to the box. Qualities may be earned more than once, and each time one is awarded the date of the award will be added. 

The award will be presented by Associate Vice President Ann Anderson, Sue Camber, or Ruth Johnston at a recognition ceremony. The recipient will also be featured in a New Directions article.
