History of Recognition Quality Team (RQT)
In 1992, Financial Management created the Recognition Quality Team (RQT) in order to unite the organization. The primary purpose of the team is to generate enthusiasm, develop creativite approaches to recognition, and acknowledge accomplishments achieved by Financial Management and Strategy Management employees.
The team is comprised of a facilitator and volunteers from each Financial Management and Strategy Management unit. The team administers and encourages peer-initiated and peer-approved recognition. We encourages the use of proven recognition techniques such as a simple and timely verbal "thank you" or a personal note written and hand delivered to a colleague. We also encourage staff to use both informal and formal recognition activites, awards and events listed on this site. RQT members do this through engaging staff within individual units to inform, encourage, and (sometime) cajole staff (and leaders!) to take the time to appreciate one another and recognize even the smallest of accomplishments.
In order to emphasize the power of recognition to FiM/SM employees, RQT, along with the Recognition Awareness Training Team (RATT), provides Recognition Awareness Training through the Recognition Awareness Training Video now online.
In addition to their regular work assignments, RQT Representatives coordinate events and recognition ceremonies to acknowledge and reward employees for their exemplary performance and contributions to quality work on a broader, organizational level.
