History of Recognition Quality Team (RQT)

In 1992, Financial Management created the Recognition Quality Team (RQT) in order to unite the organization. The primary purpose of the team is to generate enthusiasm, develop creativity and acknowledge accomplishments achieved by Financial Management and Strategy Management employees. RQT is comprised of a facilitator and volunteers from each Financial Management and Strategy Management unit. The team administers and encourages peer-initiated and peer-approved recognition. In order to emphasize the power of recognition to Financial Management and Strategy Management employees, RQT, along with the Recognition Awareness Training Team (RATT), provides Recognition Awareness Training at least twice each year. Recognition consists of formal and informal events. RQT also encourages the use of proven recognition techniques such as a simple and timely "Thank you!"  In addition to their regular work assignments, RQT Representatives coordinate events and recognition ceremonies to acknowledge and reward employees for their exemplary performance and contributions to quality work.
