While this is a multi-year initiative, significant progress is being made this year.
- A procurement process is underway to select a vendor and HR/payroll solution (we’re currently at the mid-point)
- The Business Process Redesign effort is also underway to analyze the way our work is performed today and to redesign work processes. We just completed the final BPR workshop, and are now focused on finalizing a detailed plan – or the BPR roadmap -- that will scope, prioritize, and sequence the work to be done to implement the new processes identified through this comprehensive process.
- An extensive data collection and benchmarking effort also is currently underway to identify a baseline of UW's current costs for supporting HR and payroll functions.
Designing and building the system, implementing new processes, and workforce training will take place in phases over the next several years.
