Diversity Team 2008

In the past several months the “In Profile” article of the Diversity Team Newsletter has allowed us to learn a little more about some of our co-workers in the Financial Services Division. For most of us, it is not easy to talk about ourselves, especially when what we say is going to be printed and diffused to a large group of people - some of them complete strangers. For that reason, I would like to thank all of you who agreed to be interviewed and letting us have a little “peek” at your personal life. The information you shared reminded us that life has millions of stories that are written about and lived by each and every one of us every day throughout this world of ours. This is diversity in its purest form.

I have had the privilege to write about some very interesting people and got to know a little more about them. This is something I enjoyed very much because I like people and am curious to know why people are the way they are.

I would like to thank my teammates on the Diversity Team for the truly enjoyable journey we have been on. To Lynn Beck and Robert Patton, for their easy-going leadership; to Alana Askew for keeping us grounded and financially solvent; to Cheryl Manekia for her sound, no-nonsense opinions and advice; to Sue Chong for taking care of the venues for the different events we sponsored, and to Mai Lin Chua for her unbridled enthusiasm. I also would like to thank Dick Simmons for all his quiet, hard work as the communications coordinator for the team; Debbie Carter for her support of everyone on the team; and many, many thanks to Michele Mancuso, our editor, for a professional newsletter, and for her patience in nudging us to submit articles on deadline.

All of you have contributed to making this experience very special for me - both personally and professionally. I hope that in the future we are able to collaborate again. Here’s to a job well done. Take care.
