In the summer of 1909, a world's fair, the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYP), took place on the grounds of the University of Washington. The fair shaped the campus in ways that are visible today. Much like the AYP, on February 16, Lean teams from across campus will gather to celebrate and share ideas that they are implementing which will shape the campus for years to come.
During this event, visitors will join teams in a “world’s fair”-type gathering spot, where they can hear first-hand about team activities and accomplishments, and interact directly with our employees to discuss their experiences. Visitors should ask team members about their: goals; visual management; ideas; huddles, escalation, and follow up; and also feel free to ask them about how they have tried to tackle any problems that your team might currently be struggling with.
Lean Team members will also be on hand to answer any questions that you might have about our program and to share information about upcoming Lean Team tours and events.
After the event, take advantage of your visit to check out our beautify campus, including such sights as the Drumheller Fountain and Rainer Vista (both created for the AVP).
This event is open to the public. UW employees do not need to register for the showcase.
