Requirements and Preferences
All projects will be evaluated by the CSF Committee based on how well they address the criteria listed below. If you would like more information about how projects are evaluated contact the CSF at uwcsf@uw.edu.
Environmental Impact: Projects must reduce the University’s environmental impact and/or create a more sustainable campus. The Fund will prioritize projects with measurable impact on, but not limited to, the following: carbon emissions, energy use, water use, waste, living systems and biodiversity, and pollutants and toxins.
Please note: Per its bylaws, the CSF cannot fund strictly research-based projects (those that do not contain an actionable component)!
Preferance is given to projects that:
-
align with the UW’s commitment to sustainability.
-
are able to repay the CSF through a revolving loan fund or other mechanism;
-
create a strong student-participation component;
-
can obtain matching funds from sources other than the CSF;
-
impact UW Seattle sustainability “closer to home.” For example, priority will be given to projects that directly address sustainability on campus over projects which address the city-wide environmental impacts of UW Seattle’s campus operations.
Applicant Eligibility:
The applicant must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- UW Seattle Faculty
