3.30.12 : University of Washington receives EPA Honorable Mention
Award highlights UW’s success in waste diversion efforts.
On March 27, the University of Washington received the WasteWise Honorable Mention award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for College/University Partner of the Year. This award is given to partners who excel at waste prevention, recycling collection, and buying or manufacturing recycled-content products. The honor was awarded at a Business Sustainability Forum of the EPA, hosted by Microsoft in Redmond, WA.

Five CSF funded Bicycle Repair Stations come to campus!

UW Transportation Services installs the first Dero Bike Repair station on Thursday, November 10. All the Bike sations were funded by a 2010-2011 CSF grant.
There will be five Bike Repair Stations on campus:
-The IMA
-The Medical Center
-Thurston Lane (Behind Bagley)
-Behind Kane/Memorial way roundabout
-Gates Law School
These stations provide a repair stand, air pump, and assorted hand tools to make necessary repairs to your bicycle.

Congratulations to our new CSF Coordinator, Jamie Rowe! Jamie holds a BS in Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland and previously worked for three years as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, D.C. before moving to Seattle in January. She will be studying Environmental and Natural Resource Management at the Evans School of Public Affairs starting this fall and is excited to become a part of the UW community. Welcome, Jamie!
