The UW’s academic strength is evident in our sustained top rankings among public research universities. Whether it’s a ranking from the esteemed Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, or college rankings from the U.S. News & World Report, the UW consistently ranks among the top universities in the world.

Through research discoveries and innovations, UW Medicine hospitals consistently provide strong patient care and the UW Medical Center continues to rank among the nation’s finest hospitals.

In addition to academic rankings, UW students are committed to public and global service initiatives. In 2012, the UW ranks second nationally among universities in providing Peace Corps volunteers. Historically, the UW has the third most volunteers of all time (since 1961), demonstrating a long-term commitment to global welfare.
