A Brief Overview of Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration--Compliance (POD # Q0403)

Thank you for enrolling in the Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration class. This class will provide valuable guidance in monitoring your grants and contracts in compliance with Federal, State and University policies and procedures. You will gain knowledge of regulations and rules necessary for the post award administration of grants and contracts in addition to fiscal administration guidelines. I hope you enjoy the class.

Course Description
This course is designed for individuals who currently work with grant and contract budgets at the UW. Participants gain knowledge of complex policies, rules, regulations, and procedures necessary for post-award financial administration of grant and contract budgets. Content also includes references on where to find rules and regulations and other information related to budgets.

Prerequisites:

• Introduction to Research Administration (or equivalent),
• A minimum of three months at the UW, and
• Access to, as well as a working knowledge of, MyFD or FIN (Financial System) within the online Financial Accounting System (FAS).

Course Elements:
To successfully complete this course, participants must: 

• Attend the in-person class session.

• Register with Training and Development
• Read the brief overview of grant and contract fiscal administration.
• Submit any questions that you would like to have covered during the in-person session to gcahelp@uw.edu
• Attend the in-person session.

Included is a glossary of terms used throughout Grant and Contract Fiscal Administration, to which you should refer as necessary.
