The course titles below are links that allow you to register and view eFECS related tutorials.  These short e-learning modules are a quick way to get the eFECS information you need when you need it. Following the end of each tutorial, you will be given an opportunity to provide us with your feedback on the tutorials, we hope you'll tell us what you think!

Intro to eFECS

Suggested Audience: FEC Coordinators

Description: 
This self guided full length eFECS training course is designed to provide FEC Coordinators and/or Administrators with a comprehensive demonstration of the certification process using the eFECS application. It will also prepare FEC Coordinators to train faculty how to perform online certification.

Through lecture  and interactive hands-on activities, students will be introduced to system features, be made aware of the FEC business process  and be provided with a refresher to eFECS functionality. It will cover how to make adjustments to Faculty Effort Certification reports (FECs), how faculty certify their effort electronically as well as provide information on additional tools and resources to support and train faculty on electronic certification within eFECS.

Please note this course is not an FEC compliance course. Management Accounting and Analysis (MAA) hosts "FEC - The Basics" designed to provide new staff or those in need of a refresher with an introduction to effort reporting. Learn more about the MAA compliance class for FEC coordinators.

Tutorial approximately 45 min- 1 hour.

ASTRA for eFECS

Suggested Audience: ASTRA authorizers.

Description: Designed to provide ASTRA authorizers an overview of the three ASTRA roles applicable to campus users of eFECS. It also introduces the ASTRA actions that may be assigned to each role and how an authorizer grants campus users access to eFECS.
Tutorial runs approximately 5-7 minutes.

 Cost Share Adjustments and the FEC

Suggested Audience: FEC Coordinators

Description: 
Designed for FEC Coordinators, this tutorial introduces the allowable cost share adjustments sometimes necessary in order to reflect the actual effort performed for committed cost share types on an FEC. It also provides an awareness for the most common types of cost share adjustments.

This e-learning will interactively walk you through making an adjustment to cost shared effort on the FEC when there is a reduction in effort on another cycle. It also demonstrates the impacts of this adjustment on an FEC.

It does not cover cost share adjustments for K awards.

Tutorial runs approximately 5-7 minutes.

 The eFECS Process and Certifying Your Effort Using eFECS

Suggested Audience: Faculty required to certify Faculty Effort Certification Reports (FECs).

Description:
An introduction to why and when FECs are necessary, including instructions for certifying effort and basic eFECS navigational tips.

Tutorial runs approximately 3-5 minutes.
