2012

A large elm tree located out front of Gerberding Hall had to be removed due to a case of Dutch Elm Disease. This disease kills Elm trees and can contaminate nearby trees, so it had to be removed to protect the remaining trees. The valuable wood was dried and used to build a large conference table and some lecterns for use on campus.

Fun Facts:
The table has a surface area greater than 100 square feet.
