Executive Summary

ReThink, GC3 and Net Impact are teaming up to bring back UW's 4th annual Global Sustainability Case Competition in an all new, virtual setting! Teams of up to four students will compete to solve a real-life business problem with an innovative and environmentally sustainable solution. Our competition is focused on being a beginner-friendly case in order to expose prospective and newly-admitted business students to the world of case competitions. It serves as an introduction to sustainability in real-world business decisions and prepares them to tackle more difficult case competitions later on. In 2020, we had 12 teams compete over the course of 72-hours to explore the carbon impact of the fashion industry through the lens of Patagonia. This year, we are excited to organize a larger event with more teams as we tackle challenges in a new industry. Following the preliminary rounds, the top-scorring team in each virtual room will proceed to compete at our live virtual round on March 6th from 1-3pm which will be open to the public to watch.
