LEED-NC v2.2 - Registered
LEED Documentation
Predesign for Phase 3 of UWT Selection of the Architect was completed and approved by the Board of Regents in early June, 2007. Thomas Hacker Architects(THA) was selected. The Capital Projects Office is proceeding with negotiations with THA and working with UWT staff to prepare for the predesign process.
This project will provide additional academic space to support new and expanded degree programs at Tacoma campus. The goal of the project is to develop capacity to accommodate at least 600 additional full-time equivalent students and transition to a model of a comprehensive four-year institution. It is anticipated that the scope of the project will include an addition and major renovations to the Joy Building, an historic masonry structure built in 1892. The consultant team is gathering information on existing conditions of three campus buildings and UWT expectations of academic growth. The project budget is $12,070,000.
