UW Departments and Programs: As a large institution with a decentralized procurement model for smaller purchases and contracts, many of the University’s buying and contracting decisions are made by a host of different departments, programs, and offices. Establishing business relationships with these decision makers is an important step for marketing your business.

Procurement Services works with individual University departments and programs to procure a wide range of goods and services - everything that a large university requires to meet its business and research needs, such as: computers, audio-visual and telecommunications equipment, scientific supplies and equipment, lab services, chemicals, furniture, electronics, vehicles, industrial equipment and supplies, janitorial supplies, food, medical equipment and services, office products, catering services, and consultant contracts (except for architectural/engineering related services which are handled by the Capital Projects Office).

Capital Projects Office manages the design and construction of new and remodeled University facilities including the campuses in Seattle and Tacoma, the UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, Friday Harbor Labs in San Juan County, and other remote field research locations. The Capital Projects Office regularly contracts with architects, engineers, and construction contractors in fulfilling its mission.
